Elena is a Post-Doc at Ca' Foscari University of Venice, associated with the IDPA – CNR (Institute for the Dynamics of Environmental Processes of the Italian National Research Council).
She took part in the 27th Italian Antarctic Expedition during the oceanographic cruise on the R/V Italica from 13 January to 19 February 2012.
In the framework of the EARLYhumanIMPACT project, she develops analytical methods for the determination of biomass burning markers in ice and lake sediments using HPLC-MS systems.
- Development and validation of analytical methodologies using HPLC-MS/MS, IC-MS and LC-HRMS techniques
- Identification and analysis of organic biomarkers in, with particular regard to compounds derived from biomass combustion in matrices such as aerosols, lakes, ice cores, snow, deposits, sediments, water, snow, ice, and biota.
